Hello Future Theatre Students!
Since we are trying to maintain social distance, we are having VIRTUAL auditions for placement in theatre classes for the 2021-2022 school year.
For specific information on each class that we offer, PLEASE stop by our website at www.losaldrama.org and click on the CLASSES tab. Feel free to look around the rest of the website. It will be updated more and more in the next few weeks, so keep checking in!
For current high school students:
-if you have successfully completed 2 semesters of Beginning Drama, you can automatically move to Intermediate Drama.
-if you are in either Intermediate Drama classes this year, you can either stay in Intermediate, or you can audition for Advanced Drama.
For current 8th graders:
-if you are interested, you may audition/apply to skip Beginning and move into Intermediate. One word about this: not everyone will be accepted into Intermediate. We are looking for students who plan on sticking around in the theatre program, not just taking this class for one year. We are looking for students who plan on getting involved with productions, and who plan on making this program a priority.
All audition materials are due on April 16th.
Please fill this out completely. Please let a parent/guardian know that you are auditioning for this program. If they have any questions, please have them email me at: scastiglione@losal.org

Audition Guidelines
1. Prepare a one-minute contemporary monologue. This monologue must be from a PUBLISHED play. Just because it's on the internet does not necessarily mean that it's from a published play. No monologues by Kelli Powell, DM Larson or Gabriel Davis. Please ask me, or your middle school directors, if you need help!
2. Film yourself performing the monologue. Keep the following in mind:
-dress properly for an audition.
-find a place to tape where you can see your whole body, and it's light enough to see your face. Try to find a place that doesn't have a lot going on behind you.
-tape yourself in LANDSCAPE, not portrait.
-use the correct slate "Hello, my name is __________, and this is (name of monologue) by (name of playwright), and address the camera.
-take your moment before.
-your focal point should NOT be the camera. It should be just off to one side of the camera, at your eye level.
-deliver your monologue.
-hold your last moment, relax, look at the camera, and say "thank you."
3. Label your video file with your name.
4. upload the file to this Google Form.
5. PLEASE make sure that your parent(s)/guardian(s) know what you are up to.
