FUture Stars Theatre Camp 2022

Future Stars is an awesome one-week camp designed to give incoming 1st through 8th graders a true theatrical experience.
Tuesday-Friday
6th - 8th grade - 9AM-12PM
1st-5th grade - 12:30PM-3:30PM

Saturday
6th-8th grade - 1PM-5PM
1st-5th grade - 2:30-5:30PM
​Performances that evening. 1st-5th grade performance at 5:00pm
6th-8th grade performance at 6:00pm
​Camper dinner to be provided this night!

Run by award-winning theatre director and Los Al Director Stacy Castiglione, students will rehearse and perform in a one-act play for friends and family!

Counselors are students from the award-winning Los Alamitos Drama Department, and students will be working in a fun setting that will teach collaboration, listening, reading, design, and teamwork!

Camper Information

It is not easy to find a summer camp that let's you do a PLAY!
Come and be in a one-act play!
Campers will work with directors and student counselors to produce a one-act for friends and family to see at the end of the week!
Campers should bring a snack and drink every day.
Campers should wear clothes that are comfortable and may get dirty (paint...glue...dirt...)
Campers should wear closed-toe shoes.

Daily Schedule:
TUESDAY:
Camper introductions and ice-breaker games. Get to know your new friends and your counselors!
All campers will have their headshots taken. A digital file as well as a printed headshot will be given to families at the end of the week.
Introduction to the play that the campers will be doing, and auditions.
Scenic art (painting)

WEDNESDAY:
Opening games! Let's get moving!
Cast list will be presented and scripts handed out.  Campers will do a read through with their cast.
Rotation of props creation and costume design.
Rehearsal!  Campers will begin their blocking (stage movement) and learning their lines.

THURSDAY:
More games!  WOO HOO!
Campers will participate in a publicity contest to create the artwork for their play that will printed on the posters and the programs for the show.

FRIDAY:
Even more games!
Final touches on props, costumes, and set for their play.

SATURDAY:
Everyone wears their camp t-shirt!
Final day of games!  So sad that it's over.
Full run through of plays.
A group picture and camper awards are presented and even more pictures taken!

3:30pm-Campers have a Pizza Party!
4:30-the house opens. Invite ALL of your friends and family
5:00pm- The 1st-5th grade show starts! All parents receive a complimentary fan badge of their camper (more may be purchased for $3 each)
When the show is over, parents and campers will get to see the slide show of the week, and all campers will receive a copy of the show poster, the show program, and a print of their headshot. Digital copies of the camper's headshot and a YouTube link of the slide show will be emailed to parents.
6:00pm- The 6th-8th grade show starts! ​All parents receive a complimentary fan badge of their camper (more may be purchased for $3 each)
