The CA State Thespian Southern Play Festival
DATE: Saturday, January 24, 2026
Where: Upland High School
California State Thespians (CST) invites all California middle and high schools to bring a performance to the annual California Thespian Play Festivals. Performances (up to 30 minutes) may be one-acts, cuttings from full-length productions, reader’s theatre, dance, mime, comedy, drama, etc. Performances are encouraged to be: entertaining, audience-appropriate, and timely. Student-written and student-directed pieces are encouraged.
Pieces will be adjudicated by a panel of theatre professionals who will share their notes with the cast and crew immediately after each performance in a casual, educational atmosphere.
Students from the Advanced Drama program will be competing at this event with their one-act.
The winner of this competition is invited to perform their piece at State.
